If you have heard some SEO expert talks about "Google real-time results"
I think the features is no longer available.I might be wrong but the "the real time result's"column has been removed.
Google is always experimenting new features aimed at improving the search experience.The experiment you're trying to access is no longer available.

If you would like to have the most latest results,just hit the"latest" button at the side bar.
New results will appear below as they become available.And there is a " Pause" button for you to stop updating the results page.How sweet is that.

Well Google hasn't revealed how the "latest" results are chosen but there are some things that you can take into consideration.
I believe that Google study the text used in the blog post, tweet,fb, etc. to determine the quality of the post. If a post looks like spam, it won't be chosen for the real-time results.
Social network sites and News sites does help,even nofollow link.However Google seems to create profiles of users that are re-tweeted more often than other users. If a Twitter user has many high-authority followers, it's more likely that the tweets will appear in the real-time results.
Google identify spammers by the quality of their followers and the quality of their messages as well,so don't spam,Google getting smarted and smarted nowadays
